With the recent Government announcements regarding enhanced financial incentives for businesses, there has never been a better time to take on a new Apprentice.

Whether you are looking for a new recruit or would like to train existing staff through an Apprenticeship programme, Apprenticeships offer an ideal route to allow you to mould and develop an individual.  Apprentices can benefit your business with fresh thinking, improve productivity and futureproof your workforce.

PLUS:

• You may be eligible for up to £3,000* VAT free grant if you employ an Apprentice

• You can develop existing staff by putting them on an Apprenticeship to gain qualifications and skills for your business.

TRAIN A CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Did you know you can use Apprenticeship training to upskill and retrain your existing workforce? Apprenticeship training is available to all ages, and can be used to fill key skill gaps in your business, boost employee motivation by investing in their development and improve staff retention.

For example an experienced employee may be keen to gain a qualification in their specialist area or perhaps someone has the aptitude and drive to learn something new and progress into a different role.

Apprenticeships are development opportunities that require commitment from both the individual doing the Apprenticeship and their organisation:

  • Apprenticeship training last at least 1 year and employees must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • The individual and the business must commit to 20% off the job training for their development, this is usually attending college 1 day per week
  • The role must support the Apprenticeship Standard for example if training as a Business Administration Apprentice, the employee’s role must include administrative services, in job roles such as Office Administrator, Receptionist, Administration Assistant, Personal Assistant etc

We offer a range of Apprenticeship Standards that have been created by leading employers, so you can be sure the training will meet and exceed professional industry standards.

Our Apprenticeship training enable employees to:

  • develop skills in their chosen discipline
  • be coached to develop essential behaviours needed in a professional business setting including; punctuality, presentation, communication and general office etiquette
  • receive training to develop theoretical knowledge to improve their business performance

How much will Apprenticeship Training cost my Business?

If your current employee is aged 16-18:

  • Apprenticeship training is FREE.

If your employee is aged 19 or over:

  • If you employ under 50 people the cost of the training is as little as £150* per staff member
  • If you are a large business you may be able to use your Levy ‘pot’ to pay for the cost of the training.

WE CAN HELP

If you need to recruit an Apprentice, we can help you to choose an Apprenticeship for your industry at a suitable level, we will advertise your Apprenticeship – through the government Apprenticeship Service, on our website and with our Partnership contacts. Once we receive applications we will help you to select your Apprentice and make an Apprenticeship agreement and commitment statement with them.

If you already have a member of staff in mind, we can just organise the training for the Apprenticeship you have chosen.
