Our Facilities

We are passionate about providing our students with outstanding facilities that enhance learning and support academic success. Through significant investment in recent years, we have developed a range of industry-standard learning environments, including a fully equipped hospital ward, a mock primary school classroom and a hi-tech Digital suite featuring the latest technology and software, as well as new Construction facilities and a new Sports gym. These specialist facilities provide valuable hands-on experience, helping students develop practical skills, build confidence and prepare for employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

Transforming West Lancashire College

We have made significant investments in facilities across our campus, including our main college building, Construction Centre and Sports Hall. From a complete upgrade of our IT infrastructure and the addition of a brand-new fitness suite to enhancements within our ACE and FLT centres, we have created modern, innovative learning environments designed to support student success, encourage collaboration and promote wellbeing.

Our Business reception area is a bright, spacious setting that has been designed with our visitors in mind.

Hair and Beauty Lounge

In November 2022, we proudly opened our Hair and Beauty Lounge to the public, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience. Customers can book a wide range of treatments and services, allowing learners to develop their skills, confidence and industry knowledge in a professional salon environment.

Hope Theatre

Visit our impressive Hope Theatre, a vibrant performance venue that hosts a wide range of productions, showcases and events throughout the year.

Specialised Classrooms

Our specialised classrooms provide students with realistic, industry-standard learning environments.

Sports

West Lancashire College is home to 3 fantastic Sports facilities: the Sports Performance Lab, Sports Therapy Clinic and Sports Hall.

Study Pods

Our study pods provide a quiet, private space for students to work independently, attend meetings, and receive one-to-one support. They are also an ideal environment for students to meet with our Learner Services team for guidance on UCAS applications, career planning and progression opportunities.

The Atrium

Enjoy delicious food, relax with friends and catch up on the day in The Atrium, our vibrant social space at the heart of the College. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch between lessons, meeting classmates or taking a break from studying, The Atrium provides a welcoming environment for students to unwind and recharge.

The Diner

The Diner is a spacious 200-seat refectory and dining area located on Level One of the West Lancashire College campus. Popular with both students and staff, it provides a welcoming space to enjoy a meal, socialise with friends, or relax between lessons in a comfortable and vibrant environment.

The School of Science

The School of Science was opened by Professor Brian Cox CBE FRS in July 2021 and is located within the main campus of West Lancashire College.
