West Lancashire College are delighted to share the news that eight students have been successful in receiving The Helena Kennedy Foundation bursary.

The Helena Kennedy Foundation is a bursary scheme for college students and is available to those within their first year of two-year Level 3 study programmes. The Foundation promotes equality of opportunity, enabling disadvantaged FE students to realise their potential by supporting them through higher education into fulfilling careers.

Lisa Allen, Learner Services Co-ordinator, supported a number of students to apply for the Helena Kennedy bursary with one hundred percent success!

Lisa said, "we are pleased to work with the Helena Kennedy Foundation to provide additional support for eligible students progressing to university and are delighted that those that applied this year have been successful in gaining the support of the foundation and a financial bursary. We hope that the students take the opportunity to benefit from the personal and practical support offered by the foundation to increase their employability and help promote the work of the Foundation.”

Students who have received the bursary will be starting university in a few weeks to study an array of courses such as Nursing, Education and Special Educational Needs, Social Work, Paramedic, Business and Management, Social Work and Adult Nursing. West Lancashire College wish them all the very best of luck!
