National Apprenticeship Week is a 7-day celebration of Apprenticeships across the United Kingdom where schools, colleges, employers, career advisers and thousands of students come together online to celebrate Apprenticeships in support of the Government-run National Apprenticeship Week.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, West Lancashire College are celebrating student success within their chosen Apprenticeship and highlighting the valuable skills for life that have been learned throughout their time.

Thomas is currently studying the Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 standard Apprenticeship and has said, “I was supported by the Apprenticeship team and quickly secured a place, earning a wage whilst learning in the workplace and in college. It is a great way to help me learn invaluable skills, knowledge and behaviours which will help me for years to come.”

Abigail has found the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship to be “immensely fulfilling with experienced unwavering support from both the staff and fellow apprentices.” Abigail went on to say, “I have been able to hone my abilities in communication, understanding of business operations and project management skills all of which I hope to apply to future career opportunities within the Creative sector. I would implore anyone to consider completing an apprenticeship, as it will not only give the opportunity to gain professional knowledge but also allow for personal development and individual growth.”

Nigel Jackson, Apprenticeships Curriculum Manager at West Lancashire College says, “the apprenticeship programme is delivered with a real emphasis on apprentice and employer experience, with high apprentice and employer satisfaction levels and excellent apprenticeship completion rates, with the support from our dedicated apprenticeship skills coaches. I have seen firsthand how apprenticeships at West Lancashire College change lives and promote an individual’s development and progression, whilst meeting the skills demands of industry. I work with countless apprentices and employers to help shape apprentices’ future careers and give them the best possible prospects of achieving their potential, whilst supporting employers to fill their skills gaps in industry to ensure sustainable workforces.”
