Introduction to the Hospitality Industry Entry Level 3

There are no formal qualifications required. We ask for an interest in hospitality, catering, and customer service, along with a willingness to develop practical skills and work as part of a team.

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a City & Guilds Entry Level 3 Certificate in Introduction to the Hospitality Industry.

• Basic food preparation and kitchen skills
• Health and safety in a hospitality environment
• Food hygiene and safe working practices
• Customer service skills in hospitality settings
• Working as part of a team
• Developing employability and communication skills

• Practical kitchen-based learning and food preparation
• Opportunities for work experience within hospitality settings
• Visits to local hospitality businesses (e.g. restaurants, hotels)
• Guest speakers from industry professionals
• Real-life service experience in training kitchens or events

• Practical assessments
• Portfolio of evidence
• Coursework and assignments
• Observation of skills in a working environment

Upon successful completion of this course, students can progress onto our Introduction to the Catering and Hospitality Industry Level 1 course.

If you are 16-18 years old, you do not have to pay course tuition fees*.
