The Level 2 diploma in Beauty Therapy is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by covering mandatory units, such as facial skincare, make up, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, customer care as well as health and safety.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in Beauty Therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
Entry requirements
- 4 GCSEs at Grade 3-9, including English and/or Maths

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a Level 2 Beauty Therapy VTCT qualification.

Where can I progress?
If you successfully complete this course, you may choose to undertake further study onto the Level 3 course in Beauty Therapy.

If you are 16-18 years old, you do not have to pay course tuition fees.
If you are 19 or over, please call Learner Services to confirm the fee for this course. Course costs may be subject to change.

Adult Funding Changes
Due to changes in Government funding from 1st August 2019, students who resident in some postcodes in Merseyside and Greater Manchester may be unable to access funding from training providers and colleges in Lancashire and may have to pay all associated course and support costs.

Claire Procter
Beauty Therapy LecturerI have been in the Spa and Beauty industry for more than 20 years. I completed my training at Skelmersdale College and enjoyed every minute of it. My career started working on board a cruise ship as a Spa and Massage Therapist. This enabled me to travel around the world visiting many countries doing the job I love. After this I lived and worked abroad finally returning to the UK being self-employed. I have worked at West Lancashire College for 19 years and teach level 1 – 4 in beauty therapy. This is a growing and ever-changing industry where there is always new treatments and techniques to learn. Being a teacher is very rewarding especially when seeing the learners achieve their qualifications and move on to employment within our industry
