Ken Bate Associates Limited, a subcontract partner of West Lancashire College has more than 25 years of experience in adult education, helping major brands such as Warburton’s Bakery, Mercedes Benz UK, McLaren F1 and Manchester Airport Group to improve their front-line workforce and develop their staff across a variety of occupations within the Logistics and Aviation industries.
As educationalists, one of Ken Ben Associates greatest privileges has been the use of their expertise in supporting the outstanding work provided by various charities. One shining light example is the work created by the homeless charity Emmaus UK.
Emmaus UK supports more than 850 people who have experienced homelessness and the charity provides them with support, a home for as long as required, meaningful work and training in social enterprises. The charity aim to provide a home to 1,100 people by the year 2025.
Working with the charity’s communities around the UK, Ken Bate Associates delivers vocational qualifications to those that were previously without a home and has supported them for over 8 years. In total, the team have trained 1,000 adult learners and an array of volunteers within a wide range of Emmaus communities across the country. These include places such as: Preston, Burnley, Merseyside, Leeds, Oxford and Brighton, just to name a few. The delivery staff are residential with the community for the duration of the training and development, meaning that they remain on site: eating, working and relaxing with the adult learners.
The core training offer includes the Level 2 NVQ in Warehouse and Storage, as well as a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Customer Service and Functional Skills.
