West Lancashire College offers a range of full-time study options tailored to different aspirations and qualification levels. These include a Level 2 course in Information, Computing and Technology for those beginning their journey, Computing Level 3 and the highly regarded Digital Software Development T Level. The MOD sessions engage students in a range of interactive activities, including team-building competitions, virtual lab exercises, guest speaker events and educational trips. Each experience is carefully designed to reflect real-world applications of digital skills, particularly in areas focused on national security, cyber defence and protection against digital threats.
Caitlin Bourne, Project Officer at Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership said, "The Digital & Cyber bursary programme, delivered through partnerships with Digital Skills for Defence (DS4D) and the Lancashire Skills & Employment Hub, is part of the Government’s drive to build and inspire Britain’s next generation of cyber talent – delivering on a key priority of the Strategic Defence Review: protecting Britain from rising cyber threats. Students on the programme get hands-on exposure to real cyber challenges, employability workshops, and insights into technical and business career pathways."
