Sports staff and students from West Lancashire College were delighted to partner with Burscough Priory for a Year 11 activity session.

Burscough Priory students embarked on a range of fun and engaging sport themed activities to equip them with ideas and strategies to help manage the challenges of upcoming exams, as well as to focus on their overall wellbeing.

Each group were given the opportunity to complete three different activities as part of their session. The first activity included using our mini trampolines, where they embarked on a full body bouncing warm up and workout, that was followed by a series of endorphin releasing stretches.

The second activity saw students working in pairs with boxing gloves and pads for jabbing sessions, resistance band pair challenge and an over and under relay race. The final activity witnessed a number of fitness stretches on the mat to help students relax ahead of their exams.

Neil Farrell, Curriculum Manager for Creative Service Industries added, “this was a great opportunity for our Sports students to deliver and coach sessions with the Burscough pupils. The students were able to provide information about health, wellbeing, and mental health and how to use these tools preparing for and during the examination period. Our Sports students did a fabulous job and were a great asset to the college.
