For the sixth consecutive year, West Lancashire College welcomed more than 500 local Year 9 and 10 students to its annual STEM Festival, a dynamic event celebrating the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The festival offered an engaging opportunity for young people to expand their knowledge of STEM subjects and gain a deeper appreciation of the important role these disciplines play in everyday life. Students also explored a wide range of STEM-related career opportunities, including many pathways they may not have previously considered.

The day featured a line-up of inspiring keynote speakers, including Neil Eccles from West Lancashire Borough Council, Mark Stuart and Jane Stuart from Stuart Energy, plus Michael Simon, a Civil Servant. The event was hosted by Jonathan Campbell from Loudspeaker, who kept the energy high throughout the day.

Students took part in a wide range of engaging; hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and showcase the many career possibilities within STEM. Several leading organisations supported the event by delivering interactive workshops and presentations. These included: ADP Architecture, Mersey & West Lancashire NHS Trust, Cumbria University, NHS England, The AA, University of Lancashire, Edge Hill University, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Tate Liverpool, NSG, Keepmoat Homes, Peel Ports, HCRG, Wates, West Lancashire Borough Council, Wonderdome, Liverpool Football Club, Tawd Valley Developments, IT Managed, Myerscough College, plus the Maths and Media Make-Up Departments from West Lancashire College.
