Our Electrical Installation courses equip students with the essential knowledge and practical skills to begin a successful career in the electrical industry. You will study electrical principles, installation practices, health and safety, inspection and testing, and fault finding, while gaining hands skills in industry-standard workshops. Alongside your technical learning, you will benefit from guest speakers, real world projects, site visits and employer links, helping you progress confidently towards a rewarding Apprenticeship or employment in the sector.

Lee Moorhouse
Head of Curriculum for Advanced Construction and EngineeringWith 34 years of experience in the construction industry and 12 years as a Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role. I am passionate about supporting learners and helping them develop the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to succeed in their chosen careers. I look forward to continuing to grow and support the department, contributing to its ongoing success while helping to deliver NCG's vision and strategic goals towards 2030. Sharing my industry experience and supporting students to achieve their full potential are among the most rewarding aspects of my role.

Electrical LecturerWith over 21 years of experience running my own business, I am delighted to be part of the teaching team at West Lancashire College. I bring a wealth of practical knowledge, commercial experience, and industry expertise to the classroom, helping students connect their learning to real-world applications. I hold a range of qualifications across electrical, mechanical, and information technology disciplines and am also a Chartered IT Professional. My diverse background enables me to provide students with a broad perspective on engineering and technology, combining technical knowledge with practical industry insight. I am passionate about supporting learners in developing the skills, confidence, and understanding they need to succeed in their studies and future careers. By sharing my experiences from industry, I aim to inspire students and help them appreciate the exciting opportunities available within electrical engineering and related fields.
