West Lancashire College values learner feedback and wherever possible, uses in the college decision making processes. There are various ways you can get involved with Learner Voice, whether as a Course Representative or a member of the Student Leadership Team.

Course Representatives have the important task of providing West Lancashire College with feedback about issues from a student’s point of view. This feedback enables the college to listen and then respond to students needs so that you can have the best learning experience possible whilst studying here. As a Course Representative you are in an excellent position to influence your college environment. You have the opportunity to express not just your own views, but act as the spokesperson for all learners on your course. This gives you an opportunity to give constructive feedback and to make a real impact and improve the learning experience, which is a very rewarding experience.

As a Student Leadership Team Representative, you will engage in eliciting learner views through the use of a variety of mediums including from Student Representatives and social. media, to ensure that their feedback is representative of the views of the students as a whole. You will meet as a Student Leadership Team formally five times per year to discuss cross-college issues and developments with the Principal and other invited members of the College’s Senior Management Team and Wider Management Team.

Student Ambassadors

If you love studying at West Lancashire College, you will want to get involved. You will receive training and support throughout your time as a Student Ambassador and it will offer:

  • The opportunity to develop skills like public speaking, confidence, develop relationships
  • The chance to enhance your CV with voluntary employment experience
  • A unique experience to visit your previous high school and to network and share your college experience with others.
  • A reference and certificate upon leaving the ambassador programme

The role may involve working on short, and longer-term projects under the direction and guidance of the Learner Experience Team.
