Early Years Education and Foundation Learning students at West Lancashire College proudly raised over £200 for Children in Need.

They sold Pudsey-inspired chocolate bars, held a bake sale, hosted a pop-up café, and participated in a meaningful BSL Children in Need communication session, which was led by a Foundation Learning student and his ILA, Daniela. This not only celebrated inclusivity but also showcased the power of communication and collaboration.

Dawn Hughes, Careers & Learner Experience Manager said, “We were delighted to take part in this year’s Children in Need, it’s such a worthy cause and enables our students to be creative in supporting our local and wider communities.  Well done to everyone involved.”

Children in Need announced that they successfully raised over £45 million for children and young people across the UK. Raising £50 could help pay for a child affected by domestic abuse to receive one-to-one support. Raising £200 would pay for an 11-year-old boy, who cares for his younger siblings, to go on a weekend away where he can rest, build his confidence, and be a child again. Raising £600 would pay for 20 welcome packs with clothes, toiletries, toys, and books for children arriving in emergency accommodation, offering comfort and essential support during a difficult time.

There’s still time to donate to the 2025 Children in Need campaign, further details about their work and how to donate can be found here.
