The Macmillan Coffee Morning is the biggest fundraising event for supporting people who live with cancer and is hosted yearly on 29th September. West Lancashire College are delighted to share that £122 was raised by students and staff members.

The money raised by the college supports Macmillan’s vital work in helping them to fund their amazing nurses, answer calls on their Support Line, provide financial support and much more.

£71 could help to run the Online Community Forum for over 3 hours, £100 could pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, £350 could pay for a Macmillan grant that helps a family affected by cancer take a holiday and enjoy time together, £646 could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for a week and £1,202 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for a week.

During their own coffee morning, college staff members baked an array of delicious treats including chocolate chip brownies, butterfly cakes, chocolate cupcakes, cherry loaf cake and Halloween treats.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the event and helped a wonderful charity.
