    T Levels

    T Levels have arrived at West Lancashire College!

     

    You are able to study a T Level at West Lancashire College, providing you with an alternative to A Levels, Apprenticeships and other 16-18 courses. 

    T Levels at West Lancashire College

    We're so excited to be able to offer you a T Level course. 

    T Levels are a new alternative to A Levels, apprenticeships and other 16-18 courses. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a T Level focuses on vocational skills and can help you progress into skilled employment, higher study or Apprenticeships.

    What are T Levels?

    T Levels are a brand-new vocational qualification, designed to give you all of the skills you need for your future. They’re a 2-year qualification designed in collaboration with employers to bring classroom lessons and work experience together.

    On a T Level, you’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a work placement to make sure you develop all of the skills and experience that employers are looking for. This means that whatever your next step is, a T Level will help you to step straight into your chosen career, an Apprenticeship or a degree.

    What T Levels can I study?

    What can I study?

    Management and Administration (Business) Level 3

    Our two-year T Level Business course is ideal if you want to develop your knowledge of the management and administration sector, as well as work in roles such as Administration Assistant, Supervisor or Office Manager.

    I’ve always had a passion for computers and playing games since being a child, so the T Level Digital course was ideal for me. I loved the international trip to Vienna; the entire experience was completely new and unique that will stay with me for life. My work experience at Kammac is where I’m a Support IT Technician, where I fix and help with the technology on-site.

    I chose the T Level Health course as I felt it was the best option to get me the experience I needed for my future career as a nurse with the hospital placement. I really like the facilities including The Ward when I visited the college. I am an ambassador for the college and I support with Open Events and assemblies to promote the college. I use the free college transport to get to and from college which is great I don’t have to worry about costs. West Lancashire college gives me opportunities to develop my confidence and lots of enrichment activities. I am excited to start my placement for valuable experience for my future. We have visited Chorley Hospital which was really interesting and we spoke to people in different roles NHS. I want to go to university and qualify as a nurse or as an Operating Department Practitioner.

    I joined the course after I'd chosen A Levels, but I wanted something more practical. I want to be a paramedic and the work placement alongside the course I thought was a great opportunity for me to gain skills and a real-life working environment. I really enjoy the practical side of the course, CPR training, working in the health ward learning about the environment we will be working in and mock patients to gain some skills ready for the start of my placement. I had a placement in a primary school, learning about early years, health and different work environments, I am exciting for my next placement in the health sector. The tutors are supportive and I enjoy coming to college. I was able to go to Malta on an international fully funded trip with the college, it was an amazing opportunity to work in medical centre, I brought back lots of knowledge and life skills. I would like to further my education at St Johns Moore’s University or Edge Hill University studying Paramedic Science.

    I chose the T Level Health course as I aspire to become a paramedic. I thought that the T Level was the best option for me as I enjoy the practical side of it and the work experience to get myself ready for the future learning real life skills. My placement has taught me so much taking my skills to the next step. The teachers are great and I enjoy the learning environment we have. The health ward is fantastic when I was starting to get used to the equipment I would see once I start my placement. I was able to go to Malta on an international trip and work in a medical centre which was an amazing opportunity and I gained valuable skills for my future!

    I chose to study the T Level Digital course as I enjoy working with computer and doing tasks such as programming and digital art. Creating Python programs by using new techniques has been my favourite element. I will be progressing to studying Game Design at Edge Hill University.
