Transport

Transport 2017

We understand that the cost of transport is a major concern for someyoung people and their families and we are proud to offer a number of subsidised and free** transport options for our students.

OPTION 1 - FULL ARRIVA BUS PASS
This pass is for those students who are on an Arriva bus route and who study for more than 10 hours per week. Students can apply for an Arriva bus pass - whether or not they use the bus to come to college.
• unlimited use (except night buses)
• issued termly
• cost equivalent to £9.50* per week
• students on (or dependant of someone claiming) incomebased benefits could be eligible for a FREE** bus pass.

OR

OPTION 2 - COACH SERVICE
From Kirkby,Aintree and Maghull to Skelmersdale
This pass is for those students travelling from Kirkby, Aintree and Maghull. A Coach Service is provided.
• college bus pass provided
• passes issued termly
• cost equivalent to £9.50* per week
• students on (or dependant of someone claiming) income based benefits could be eligible for a FREE** bus pass.

OPTION 3 - Subsidised Transport** from areas not on an Arriva Bus Route
Such as Tarleton, Rufford & Burscough. (Students who use alternative bus companies)
Student’s will be assessed on an individual basis to identify support required with transport costs.

8:13 am* - Old Roan Pub

8:15 am* – Opposite Asda (Aintree)

8:19 am* – Northway – Opposite The Alt Pub

8:45 am* – Main Site on College Way, Skelmersdale and onto Glebe Road, Gillibrands, Skelmersdale.

Terms & Conditions
Students should clearly identify themselves to the bus driver if they wish the bus to stop and pick them up. Bus drivers may change, so this is essential every day practice to ensure the bus stops for you.

Students must show their College ID Badge to the driver each time they use the service – students will not be allowed onto the bus without their College ID Badge.

Students are expected to treat the bus drivers with respect and courtesy – bad manners or behaviour will result in exclusion from the free College bus service.

No food or drink should be consumed on the College bus and students are expected to remove all rubbish or litter they may create during the journey to and from College.

Students should check the College website on a regular basis to check for changes to times or routes.  In the event of adverse weather conditions, students should check the College website prior to leaving home.
