How To Make An Application

Choosing your college or sixth form is an exciting time, but it can also be a daunting one. We have gathered some tips so that you can choose the right course for you, as well as what to expect when you create an application.

 

Know Your Options

It is important to find out what all your options are, what you want to receive from a college and a course. Is your college close to home? Would you prefer to do A Levels, or focus on your vocation? Ensure you take the time to conduct research before applying. 

Follow Your Passion

Choosing a course is a big decision. With a lot on offer, it is tempting to choose the same course as your friends. Your choice of course is your stepping stone to what comes next in your life. Choose a course that you're really interested in and have a passion for. 

Find Out About Support

It is always good to know what help and support is available to you, wherever you choose to apply. West Lancashire College has an award-winning support team who can help you with your studies, as well as your mental health and wellbeing. We can also help you with financial support and if you're eligible, you could receive help with meals, travel, study equipment and fields trips. 

Come Visit Us

As you'll be spending a lot of time on campus, it is ideal to take a tour for you to understand what West Lancashire College is about. You can view our magnificent facilities, meet the tutors of your chosen course and attend an Open Event in order to learn more.

Make An Application

Once you have decided on a course, you are ready to make an application on our Apply page.

Once we have received your application, our Admissions team will review it and may be in touch if more information is required.

A suitable interview time will be discussed with you as well.

Accepting Your Place

Once your place has been agreed with our team, all you need to do is confirm your acceptance at the interview and secure your place at West Lancashire College.

Enrol With Us

Each college has a different enrolment process. Ours take place in August and you will be contacted a few weeks before to provide you will all the details you'll need to complete your enrolment. 

You will be invited onto campus for the enrolment, in which you will receive your Student ID and any required uniforms.
