Supported Teaching and Learning Student Stephanie is chasing her dreams to become a Special Educational Needs Teacher. We spoke to Stephanie about her journey.

"I studied the Level 2 supporting teaching and learning with Kerrie 2019/2020 which I absolutely loved, Kerrie is such an amazing tutor and she inspired me to continue and do the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Course which I started in September 2020 and am due to complete this year, Mell is a wonderful tutor also so full of knowledge.

In September 2020, I managed to secure a full time teaching assistant position in a primary school and this combined with my level 3 course gave me the push to continue studying. Whilst working I developed a love of teaching children with special educational needs and made the decision to further my knowledge by gaining a degree and at 46 this was not an easy decision!

Now, after plenty of research, I found a foundation teaching and learning education degree which is a full time degree that I will be progressing onto. My dream of becoming a special educational needs teacher is about to start and it’s thanks to my tutors Kerrie and Mell and the amazing courses at West Lancashire College!"
